Privacy Policy

LAST MODIFIED: APRIL 24, 2026

1. Who we are

LTC Magic is operated by Ben Tomlin trading as LTC Magic. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data when you visit the website, buy a license, activate the app, use support, or interact with our licensing services. You can contact us at support@ltcmagic.com.

This policy does not cover third-party websites, payment pages, or services that have their own privacy notices.

2. Local-first audio processing

LTC Magic is designed so the core audio workflow runs locally on your Mac. Your audio files, waveforms, LTC data, XML/FCPXML files, and generated timeline or CSV outputs are not uploaded to our licensing server as part of normal product use.

We may receive personal data related to purchase, activation, support, and security, but we do not use your production media for training, profiling, advertising, or analytics.

Your creative materials stay under your control; still, you should maintain your own backups before processing production files.

3. Personal data we collect

The personal data we collect depends on how you use LTC Magic. We aim to collect only what we need to deliver the product, maintain licensing, prevent abuse, provide support, and meet legal obligations.

  • Checkout data: email address, customer name if provided, purchase reference, product, price, currency, payment status, refund status, and Stripe checkout identifiers.
  • License data: license key, product entitlement, activation count, activation status, activation/deactivation timestamps, and machine identifiers used for license enforcement.
  • Support data: name, email address, subject, message content, and any screenshots, files, or diagnostic details you choose to send us.
  • Technical/security data: IP address, request metadata, logs, audit events, and security signals needed to run, debug, and protect the service.
  • Account/admin data: login details and administrative records where applicable to internal operators.

4. How we use personal data

We use personal data for the purposes below. Depending on your location, our lawful bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, and consent where required.

  • To process purchases, fulfil orders, issue licenses, send transactional emails, and provide receipts or order support.
  • To activate, validate, deactivate, and reset licenses within the permitted activation limits.
  • To respond to support requests and troubleshoot checkout, activation, update, or product issues.
  • To secure the website, admin tools, APIs, update feeds, and licensing infrastructure.
  • To maintain records needed for accounting, tax, fraud prevention, chargeback handling, and compliance.
  • To improve documentation, support processes, and product reliability based on aggregated operational patterns.

5. Payments and processors

Payments are handled by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers or card security codes on our servers. Stripe may process payment details, billing information, fraud signals, and transaction records under its own terms and privacy notices.

We store checkout references and order metadata so we can fulfil purchases, handle refunds, resend license emails, and reconcile payment events.

6. Sharing personal data

We share personal data only where needed to operate LTC Magic, comply with law, protect rights, or complete a transaction you requested.

  • Payment processors, including Stripe, for checkout, fraud prevention, payment confirmation, and refunds.
  • Email and hosting providers for transactional email, support communication, website hosting, logs, backups, and service delivery.
  • Professional advisers where necessary for accounting, tax, legal, security, or compliance support.
  • Authorities or third parties where required by law, legal process, fraud prevention, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users or our service.

7. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy. Exact periods can vary depending on legal, tax, accounting, support, security, and operational needs.

  • Order, license, and refund records are generally kept while your license is active and for a reasonable period afterwards for accounting, fraud prevention, and support.
  • Activation records are kept while needed to enforce activation limits, support deactivations, and audit license changes.
  • Support messages are kept while needed to resolve your request and maintain service history.
  • Security and server logs are kept for limited operational periods unless longer retention is needed to investigate abuse, fraud, or security incidents.

8. International transfers

Our service providers may process personal data in countries other than your own. Where transfer safeguards are required, we rely on appropriate mechanisms such as adequacy decisions, standard contractual clauses, provider data-processing terms, or other lawful safeguards.

9. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to, or receive a copy of your personal data. You may also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

To make a privacy request, contact support@ltcmagic.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, especially where the request relates to license, order, or support records.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

The website and licensing portal may use essential cookies or similar storage for security, sessions, authentication, CSRF protection, checkout continuity, and basic service operation.

We do not currently describe any behavioural advertising cookies in this policy. If we add analytics or marketing cookies later, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law.

11. Children

LTC Magic is a professional audio post-production tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes and contact

We may update this Privacy Policy when the product, service providers, legal requirements, or data practices change. The "last modified" date shows when the current version took effect.

Questions or requests about privacy can be sent to support@ltcmagic.com.
