DocsLTC Timestamping
LTC Timestamping
LTC timestamping is the process of reading Linear Timecode from an audio signal and using it to determine where recordings belong on a timeline.
LTC is often recorded as an audio tone on one channel of a file or as a dedicated sync track. LTC Magic analyses that signal, decodes the timecode values, and applies them to your audio files or timeline output.
For best results, choose a clean LTC source with consistent level, minimal distortion, and no dropouts. If a file contains several channels, make sure you select the channel that actually carries the LTC signal.
After timestamping, review the results carefully. Pay attention to warnings about missing timecode, jumps, mismatched frame rates, or files that could not be confidently placed.
