FCPXML Export and Import

FCPXML is a timeline interchange format used by Final Cut Pro and supported by some other post-production tools.

When exporting FCPXML from LTC Magic, choose the intended timeline settings carefully. The frame rate, start time, clip naming, and media paths should match the needs of the receiving editor or system.

After export, import the FCPXML into Final Cut Pro or the target application and check that media links correctly. If files appear offline, confirm that the exported XML points to the correct media location and that the receiving system can access those paths.

For handoff, send the FCPXML together with the source audio or a clearly organised copy of the media folder. Avoid moving or renaming files after export unless you plan to relink them manually.
