FCPXML Build and Import

FCPXML is the timeline output from Timeline Builder and from Burnt-in Timecode. It is used by Final Cut Pro and supported by some other post-production tools, including DaVinci Resolve.

1. Finish Timeline Builder through Validate and Report.
2. Choose Build timeline and confirm the output folder, filename and frame rate.
3. Review the exported FCPXML and build report.
4. Import the FCPXML into Final Cut Pro or the receiving application.
5. Check that clips land at the expected timecode, grouped WAVs remain usable and media is online.

If files appear offline, keep the FCPXML and media together and avoid renaming or moving the source files. Otherwise, relink the media in the receiving application.

For handoff, send the FCPXML together with the source audio or a clearly organised copy of the media folder. Avoid moving or renaming files after export unless you plan to relink them manually.
