Working Safely with Original Audio

Treat original production audio as source material that should remain unchanged.

Whenever possible, keep originals in a read-only or clearly labelled source folder. Write exports, reports, and rebuilt timelines into a separate output folder.

Before batch processing, confirm whether LTC Magic is writing sidecar files, metadata updates, copied media, or timeline-only outputs. Choose the safest option for your workflow.

For archival or high-pressure jobs, make a backup before processing. This is especially important if multiple people or systems will touch the same media.
