DocsChoosing an LTC Source
Choosing an LTC Source
A good LTC source should be continuous, readable, and recorded at a healthy level. It should look and sound like a steady timecode signal rather than production dialogue, room tone, or music.
When choosing a source, consider:
- Is the LTC present for the full recording?
- Is the signal clean enough to decode?
- Is it on the same channel across all files?
- Does the source match the expected frame rate?
- Are there any obvious breaks, resets, or jumps?
If your session includes multiple possible LTC tracks, start with the most complete and consistent one. If one source fails or produces warnings, try another available LTC channel before assuming the file is unusable.
