Preparing a Session

Put one session in one folder, then set the frame rate to the picture, not to a guess.

Keep test tones, old exports and the stereo mix out of the folder you are about to stamp or split. A Stereo mix WAV belongs in Timeline Builder, not in a Timecode Stamping batch.

A wrong frame rate does not always fail loudly. 23.976 read as 24 makes cuts drift later in the picture. 29.97 DF read as 29.97 NDF is off by a few frames each ten minutes, so the start looks right and the end does not. Take the rate from the camera report or the Resolve timeline, and choose 29.97 DF only when the timeline is drop-frame.

Stamp or split into a new folder. Timecode Stamping is the one tool that rewrites metadata in the WAV you hand it, so keep a copy of those originals until you have checked the start timecode.
